America is holding its breath as a monster hurricane, Gustav described as more powerful than Katrina and mother of all storms, is roaring its way towards the country’s Gulf Coast. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal initiated what is called a “Contra-flow”, which means all roads, including eight lane highways lead out of New Orleans starting Sunday with no incoming traffic allowed. Roads are already packed with bumper to bumper traffic as residents heed two-word exhortation splashed in headlines in local media; “GET OUT”.

The National Hurricane Centre in Miami said Gustav, which crossed Cuba may reach Louisiana as early as Monday morning. The Centre forecasts the storm will strengthen as it reach New Orleans. In 2005, Katrina hit the area as a Category 3 hurricane causing severe flood and killing more than 1800 people
