Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered an empathetic plea at the Democratic National Convention to unite behind her rival, Senator Barack Obama, no matter what ill-will lingered. Main task for Clinton did in her soaring and unconditional language in her 23 minute speech was to reaffirm her support behind Obama. Declaring herself to be “a proud supporter of Barack Obama”, Clinton urged Democrats to put aside their loyalty to her and unite behind Obama. Else if disunity continues they risk of having Bush administration policies continued with Senator John McCain becoming president.

She said “Whether you voted for me, or voted for Barack, the time is to unite as a single party with a single purpose”. This made the Democratic National Convention hall burst into applause.

Obama praised Clinton’s speech as he watched on Tuesday night from Montana. “That was excellent, that was a strong speech”, Obama said from Billings. He added “She made the case for why we’re going to be unified in November and why we’re going to win this election”.
